By way of San Francisco through Amsterdam I've finally arrived in Milan Italy. Because it's Sunday, and things don't really start rolling until Monday I've had a chance to spend some time exploring and not at all think about data security, insider threats, etc. Some places worth seeing if you ever come to Milan are as follows: The Duomo Cathedral which represents Gothic architecture. Also - Sforzesco Castle is amazing as is La Scala - the Opera House.
A few interesting notes on Milan.
- The shopping is incredible (I've heard) - but most stores are closed on Sunday, so I'll need to take everyone's word on that. But since everyone looks like they just stepped out of a magazine - think they're right.
- The taxis are the most expensive anywhere in the world I've traveled to date; take public transportation so you can afford to go shopping if you're here beyond Sunday.
- I'm not sure if this is just my hotel, but you can't get an ironing board and iron. Most places in Europe you can call the front desk for an iron - but not here. There is a "pressing room." Pretty cool actually.
- I saved the best for last: The food. What can I say - next to Sao Paulo Brazil it's some of the best I've ever had. In fact, even if you don't like Buffalo Mozzarella - you've got to try it here, although it will ruin you for Buffalo Mozzarella anyplace else.
